Subjects primed with religion give more in the Dictator Game. (A large majority gives even more to the other than they keep for themselves which I find quite remarkable.)
This seems to imply government propaganda slogans are a good idea that really works. Empirical evidence suggets otherwise, but of course it's not really completely comparable.
